La Valse Retrouvée was written on the initiative of Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, and is called Valse Retrouvée because of the difficulty of its genesis: I had to find the spirit of a waltz without giving the material at first sight. The material for this piece, which lasts around four and a half minutes, is made up of three musical elements: one of three notes, one of four and one of five, with the three superimposed to form the chromatic total. It’s a song that floats along at times, a play of colors, a waking dream.
